Mairéad Gallagher

Mairéad Gallagher

Mairéad has always loved singing and has been a member of many choirs since childhood. She completed a BA in Music and English in UCC, followed by a Bachelor of Music degree and a Higher Diploma in Education. She sings with The Fleischmann Choir and Musicórum in Cork city and plays viola with Cork Concert Orchestra in Cork and KAOS in Kinsale. She first experienced Music Together® as a parent attending one term with her daughter while living in California. She loved the classes so much she subsequently completed Music Together's teacher training course and brought the first Music Together centre in Ireland to families in Co. Cork. Classes have been running since January 2006.

Mairéad is passionate about music and young children, and works to inspire a whole new generation of music-makers who can sing in tune, move in rhythm and participate with joy and confidence as they create music with family and friends throughout their lives. Her Wriggletto classes create a fun, informal social setting that spurs engagement of both adults and children and that supports each child's musical development. You never know what she'll play in class - accordion, ukulele, viola, tin whistle, guitar among others - and the children love to have their turn on most of the instruments at the end of class!
Comments from Wriggletto parents include: "Wriggletto is highly enjoyable for both parent and child. It is a highlight in our week and a chance for me and my child to spend quality time together doing something fun and creative in a relaxed and stimulating atmosphere with a wonderful, enthusiastic teacher." Joy B.

"Mairéad has fantasic musicality herself - it is fascinating to watch how she interprets the music with her whole body. She has excellent group facilitation skills catering for a mix of age groups as well as including and supporting the parents also. She is always very well prepared and is a very highly skilled facilitator who can take both adults and children from where they are at. The classes are action packed, with a variety of instruments, activities and movements, while still safe, structured and comfortingly familiar. Mairéad oozes positivity, love of music and passion for her work and the result is that everyone feels included, nurtured and guided in a fun atmosphere." Caitríona H.

Alice Fitzgibbon

This January 2026, our 20th year in business, we are delighted to welcome Alice Fitzgibbon on board as an apprentice Wriggletto teacher! Whilst completing her Music Together teacher training, Alice will apprentice with us through our Winter 2026 term, with a view to teaching classes during our Spring 2026 term. We wish her well with all the learning this winter!

Alice is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and experienced music educator based in Crosshaven, Co. Cork. She has an Honours Bmus from MTU, 12 years of international experience and currently runs her own teaching studio: The Crosshaven Music Studio while working with students across a range of settings, offering piano, clarinet, saxophone and music theory lessons, early-years music classes: "Music Explorers" and creative group piano classes that support whole-child development through music.

Alice’s teaching is deeply influenced by Music Learning Theory, alongside somatic, playful, and relationship-based approaches to learning. Her classes prioritise singing, movement, rhythm, listening, and creative exploration, helping students build strong musical foundations while developing confidence, focus, and a genuine love of music.

Alongside her teaching work, Alice is an award-winning composer and an active community musician, with experience leading choirs, facilitating workshops, and integrating music with wellbeing, creativity, and connection. She sings with the Honan Chapel's resident choir, MusiCórum and the Cork Georgian Ensemble, does accompaniment work for choirs and loves to Jam with various different musicians in different contexts.
